  The Cut and Paste Generation
Creativity

Cutting and pasting essays from the internet is a wholly rational response to an education system that is now an indoctrination system. The word ‘education’ has its origins in the root word ‘educare’ – meaning to ‘draw out and extend’. Modern education no longer does this. It imposes a curriculum on students that has its basis in making us look economically superior to the Germans. The purposes for modern mainstream education are built around economic objectives and are not about the development of human beings as individuals, their potential, values and identity in a changing world. Real education starts where you are – it is grounded in real, personal and lived experience. Real education gives you the tools to reflect on your own experience and make your own sense of it. It helps you to adapt to a new reality in the face of changing circumstances.

  The End of Education?
Creativity My teaching experiences at one of the top, award winning, F.E. colleges in the country have led me to see this college as a factory geared  towards  turning out qualifications. Much of the personal wealth of  the teachers,  staff and students there is focused on getting good examination results  above any developing the potential of individuals - as if there  was time  for this anyway given the workload ! The curriculum is strictly controlled and  still based on  knowledge and conformity over developing personal values and developing  individual  creativity / potential / interest.

Chocolate - a Cure for Writers' Block?
Creativity Chocolate Reviews - stimulate your salivary glands here and cure writers block in the process. In a sporadic outburst of decadence, I joined the Chocolate Tasting Club for a while.   Every month a box of 'the-most-fantastic-chocolates-in-the-World',  individually hand made by most excellent chocolatiers, would drop through  the letterbox I reshaped especially to receive it. Please enjoy these mouth  watering treats in a linguistic format. No calories - and you get to keep your teeth!

  Get creativity
Creativity Diminishing natural resources and increasing populations mean that we on planet earth are a culture in a spiral of entropy. Our investment systems have been using the capital assets of our planet as income since the beginning of the Iindustrial Revolution. We are putting little energy back into our planet to maintain a healthy environment for ourselves. Creativity is a valuable trait in addressing these problems.

SECRETS OF THE VALLEY (Episode 1: The Lily) by Simon Mitchell - Paperback / ebook - (Fiction)

Secrets of the Valley by Simon Mitchell

An ancient matrix of energy lies hidden in the earth, its existence and purpose all but forgotten. One strand, named ‘The Dragon Line’ passes through Cornwall, a land steeped in history and mystery since the dawn of time. Here the line passes through the valley of the River Fowey.

A lone ghost, abandoned in the valley of his birth, tells how the line of energy has been usurped, unbalancing the whole planetary energy matrix. In The Lily, the first novel of an extraordinary trilogy, we share his lives as he tells his tale of 2000 years in the Fowey valley. He sets a crucial task, to mend the Dragon Line and restore the balance of power, before time itself runs out.
